Tax Freeze

Hello Toronto,

My name is Sandeep SRIVASTAVA and I am asking to be your next mayor.

One of my campaign promises is to control taxes and city spending.

If elected mayor, I will work with council to adopt a four-year tax freeze. Torontonians are overtaxed. Over the past ten years, the average residential tax bill has nearly doubled or tripled, with even larger increases being shouldered by local small business owners.

Cumulative Residential Property Tax in Toronto is over Inflation Rate. Every year, Toronto City collects billions of dollars more than is needed to run the city.

A Four-year tax freeze would throw a needed lifeline to local small business owners as well as everyday families, seniors and students are struggling to make ends meet.

This is a realistic goal that offers Toronto taxpayers a much-needed break and can be achieved so long as Council prioritizes needs over wants. Torontonians are ready for change and change starts now.
